I Hope I Do Have MS

I was speaking to my friend Toni today.  (Toni is the woman who overcame cancer through diet).  I told Toni about my progress and about how, once all my scars have healed, I do not want to hear “oops…you must have been misdiagnosed.”

Toni said that, once I am all healed, I will probably hear “oops, you were misdiagnosed.”

Well, I have about two more years before I hopefully  hear that…

Two Things…

  1.  I continued the low carb diet.   Lots of vegetables… tiny bit of fruit, no rice, no banana.  Little fish, little white meat chicken.  I splurged on one piece of gluten free bread at breakfast.  I stopped eating at 7pm so my body can work on healing and not digesting while I sleep…
  2. I increased the amount of meditation and deep breathing.  I will now wake up a little earlier and meditate each morning at daybreak.  I will also drink at least 1 liter of water before I eat.

The idea of meditation for me, is that the MIND can and should control the body.  I imagine the area around the scars in my brain and spine healing as I inhale and the scars blowing away as I exhale.

Good night.  Tomorrow is an early day.

Low Carb Snacks and Meals

Cutting carbs and practicing walking.  I ate fish for dinner.  In place of rice I ate shredded cabbage with sauce to help imitate rice.  I ate fish for breakfast with some veggies.  Lunch I had some carbs, cold brown rice w/vegetables.  Ate my blueberries but skipped the banana.

I am actually feeling well fed.  Fish and vegetables.  Lots and lots…

Dinner

In my quest to cut carbohydrates, I ordered well done white meat chicken on my salad for dinner.  The dressing is on the side, no cheese or bread.

I will also limit my banana intake to a max of 1 in a day.

If anyone else has any experience limiting carbs, please let me know any thoughts you may have.

“The Miracle of Fasting” by Paul and Patricia Bragg

I got some walking exercise outside today and tomorrow I will water walk at the gym.  What I want to do, however, is to reduce the amount of carbohydrate that I eat each day.  If fasting, even for just a day each week, helps me to appreciate the vegetables I eat even more, I will give it a try.

Now I will read the book by Paul and Patricia Bragg.

Promise Achieved But…

I did walk into a barber and got a haircut today, though it was not pretty.  I used my cane and held a hand, walked slowly, held a railing, etc.

I need walking practice!

I will go practice walking now.

I can walk…

Promise

I told my 11 yr. old son about the promise I had made to his mom and big sister, that in two yrs. I would be able to go with the orchestra on their next trip, where ever they go, and I would not need a wheelchair.

He said “you’d better!”  Then we shook hands.

I am going to practice walking.  Tomorrow I will try to walk into a store and get a haircut.

Mini Goals Before Big Goal 2 Yrs;Family Trip no Wheelchair

I will carefully try to achieve mini goals each week /each day, working toward the big goal in 2 years.  This Tuesday I will either walk into a store to get my haircut, do exercises on land at the gym, or do both.

Each day, in between these blog posts, I will  do mini mini goals.  I will simply practice walking, breathe deeply, repeat “heal…heal…heal…” well…you know.

“You Are Walking Much Better”

Today I was walking in the hallway of my daughter’s orchestra rehearsal while the musicians were practicing in the classrooms.  A student complemented me ” you are doing much better than before…you are almost walking like normal.  Just keep practicing.”

Almost just like normal.  I just have to keep doing all that I am doing.

Walk, walk, walk…heal, heal, heal…

My 2 Year Goal

My daughter is going to Europe this summer with the local student orchestra.  Many parents are going with their children.  I want to go.

The next orchestra trip to Europe is in two years.  I will go.  No wheelchair.

I will practice walking every day.

Every single day.
